About Me

I am Dr Sara Anderson, a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist working in private practice and the NHS for the past 15 years.

I am qualified to work with individuals across the lifespan (children, adolescents and adults), couples and families. I have worked in a range of different mental health settings, with mild to more long standing difficulties and with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. I currently work part time in the NHS specialising in parental mental health and the early years – the time around pregnancy, birth, the first years of parenthood and early years of childhood.

I completed my undergraduate and master’s degrees in psychology at the University of Vienna, Austria and my professional doctorate in clinical psychology at UEL, London. I have done further training in Infant Mental Health, Systemic Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Parenting Programmes including the Solihull Approach, Incredible Years Programme, Triple P Positive Parenting and Nonviolent Resistance.

I am passionate about helping people live the best version of their life. I believe in identifying strengths and resources within individuals, families and wider systems and using these resources to help find solutions or ways forward in dealing with emotional distress and difficulties. For me, the central aspect of being able to help you reach your goals is developing a good relationship. I thus do my utmost to ensure you feel able to express yourself and leave our sessions feeling heard and understood. My approach is warm, friendly and compassionate.
